Balm on the Wound

Description

Done as part of the 100 Themes Challenge. The topic of the day, 'Wound'.

Yeah...I know you're looking at this going "wound...how does this work?"

Well, let me explain. I love trees, I love rivers, I love green things in general. They make me feel better, more 'in my element' as it were. Maybe it's because I've been fortunate enough to grow up around greenery for most of my life. When I've had a really bad day I'll usually try and calm down by going to find tree's way out there away from other people. There are few things that can put things into perspective more than standing in the presence of something that has been alive for much longer than you have. Or even something as biologically strange and gargantuan as an aspen grove, which, believe it or not, is actually a single large organism, and not many separate trees. (How cool is that?!)

Any way, when I read the word 'wound'. I thought of what I usually do to take care of them. This is the balm.

And yes, I am well aware that that's not really how branches would allow light into a grove of tree's, but just take a moment or two and consider what it looks like and I think you'll get a little bit more about my sentiments on this.

Done with ink, pens, color pencil and water color...yeah, as a result it did end up not entirely gelling, but that's all right. The only thing I actually have a problem with is that you can see a distinct line where I stopped using my ink pens and turned to brush ink.

This image belongs to me, no stealing.

You are such an amazing painter. I love the tree's and how the branches are practically woven together.
