Catholicism is not sexy

I think most of you guys know this, but when I was very young I attended Catholic school. Kindergarten through 1st grade.

Over Labor Day weekend I was at a barbeque and some people started getting into a conversation with me about how sexy they thought Catholic school girl uniforms were. Now I hope that the general populace is aware that the uniforms that show up in Britney Spears video's and in many films that feature school girls are not in any way a good or even remotely accurate depiction of what you wear when you go to a school that requires uniform. (This is also true of almost all anime too, there are a few exceptions in which student characters are wearing uniforms that would show up in actual schools there, but it's usually pretty sexed up on t.v there too.)

To illustrate to these people what exactly a Catholic school girl would really wear I made a quick doodle of what I wore just about every school day for a good two years. A dark green plaid jumper with a navy sweater, high white socks and black shoes. If it were especially cold, girls were permitted to wear corduroy pants that usually were just for boys.

The skirts were fine, but I haaaated the pants because they felt so gross.

Seriously guys, think about it, it's a religious institution, do you really think they're going to give girls a uniform that lets them hang out all their assets? Do you honestly believe that they'd give that kind of uniform the 5 and 6 year old girls? No. These things are about as plain Jane and conservative as you can get. (Though to be fair, I actually liked that uniform skirt as a kid. The pants were a bitch, but the skirt had awesome pleats in it.)

Oh, and if you guys are wondering why I am not wearing glasses here when I saw often depict my younger self with them, well that's because I didn't get glasses until the end of first grade/beginning of second. I'm basing this off of what I remember wearing to Kindergarten.
